Tender Beef, filled with goodness a real heart- warming meal cooked to perfection in the Wonderbag.
- ¼lbs boneless beef chunks (1 inch cubes of stewing beef)
- 2 Tbsp olive oil
- 4 stalks celery, chopped
- 5 medium carrots, chopped
- 2 medium leaks, sliced ( white and green parts only)
- ½lb mushrooms, quartered
- 1 sprig thyme
- 4 ¼ cups beef stock
- Salt and pepper to season
- 1 Tbsp soy sauce
- 1 cup pearl barley
Brown the beef chunks in oil for 5 minutes. Add the celery, carrots, leeks, mushrooms and thyme into the pot and fry for 2 minutes.
Add the beef stock, salt, pepper and soy sauce and bring to a boil for 15 minutes. Add 1 cup of pearl barley and allow to boil for a further 5 minutes.
Place lidded pot in Wonderbag for 3 hours.
Serve with horseradish (optional).
