Whether you have a prolific apple tree in your backyard, local orchards or you frequent your farmers market, fall is the perfect time to make a homemade batch of applesauce. And the Wonderbag makes it simple.
- 10 large apples (select the variety you prefer - I used Gala)
- ½ cup water
- ½-1 cup sugar (I substituted with Stevia)
- 1 tsp cinnamon (add more if you want more flavor)
Peel and core apples and place in lidded pot. Pour in water, cinnamon and sugar. Bring pot to a boil and let simmer for 5 minutes.
Place in Wonderbag for 8-12 hours (ours went for 12). Once cooked, remove from Wonderbag and mash the cooked apples to the consistency of your preference.
Serve warm or chill and serve cold.
