With life returning to normal after Christmas and New year, and most people heading back to work, weekends are the perfect time for slow cooked long lazy dinners! My husband’s favourite is Oxtail stew, and the Wonderbag saves so much time and energy (gas or electricity) that I would not cook my oxtail any other way. I prefer to leave my oxtail 8 – 12 hours, and so I do open the bag halfway through the cooking process, bring it to a simmer again and then pop it back in the bag. It is perfect when left overnight. Remember for optimal cooking in your Wonderbag, your pot should be at least ¾ full and you should not use glass or pottery. For the oxtail, I simmer it for 1 hour and 20 minutes before putting it in my Wonderbag. At the end of the day I am saving 6 – 8 hours of gas, and I do not need to keep checking it!
